Ile Imole Ifa-Ifa Temple of Light is an Ifa/Yoruba based religious institution in the United States. Based in New Jersey, our purpose is to provide a vehicle by which the children of Africa can return to African traditional religion, culture, values, understandings and serve humanity by way of spiritual counseling.
Ifa Temple of Light is a branch temple of Ile Tawo Lona-The Temple
of the Mystic Path and the Karade Priestly Order. The temple was founded in 2002 by Baba Akinkugbe Karade and Apetebi Iya Oluyomi Majekodunmi-Karade. We gather monthly to give homage to the Ancestors and worship the Orisha. The temple is guided by the wisdom of Orunmila-the Prophet as revealed through the Odu-Ifa, the sacred text of the Ifa Religion.
Baba Akinkugbe Karade serves as the temple leader and is assisted by Apetebi Iya Oluyomi Majekodunmi-Karade and Iyawo Ifasade Karade.
We provide a variety of services to the community and observe many rites of passage. Childbirth (Naming Ceremonies), Weddings, Priestly Initiations, Funerals to name a few. Our membership includes people from varying walks of life and they come from many eastcoast states from New York to Florida.
The temple itself has several sacred spaces for temple gatherings and ritual, an outdoor area and an expansive library that contains many books on the Ifa Religion, Congolese traditions, Shamanism and other Eastern Sciences.
